Updated School Holidays dates widget

We recently updated the school holiday widget on My School Holidays. To get yours simply visit My School Holidays, find your school and copy/paste the embed code into your blog, learning platform or website.

On top of the visual updates we have put in we are in the process of adding holiday dates for 5 more countries and we have an app in the works!

NEW FEATURE: Online Pictogram / Pictograph creator

A few days ago Matt Lovegrove mentioned he didn’t have any simple pictogram (aka pictogramme / pictograph) software for his network so we went about making him something up!

We decided to make a simple, free, online pictogram creator. This gives you the freedom to use the tool however you see fit!

Key Features:

  • Images automatically load
  • Up to 5000 items/rows
  • We still have no ideas if this is supposed to be called a pictogramme, pictogrammen, pictogram or pictograph creator..
  • No need to download/install any software
  • Completely free
  • Super awesome.

ICT teaching and learning framework

Matt Lovegrove and others have done a fantastic job of writing up an ICT teaching and learning framework. I added some minor bits and suggestions and here is an updated version:

I want to commend Matt Lovegrove, Steve Greenfield, David Sheppard and Claire Waite for their efforts in creating this very clear and useful document. I also want to commend them for releasing the document under a creative commons license. What a great example of teachers willing to share and work in collaboration with other teachers and educators!
