HTC hero camcorder audio 3gp

The HTC Hero ships with a camcorder that records audio and video in 3gp mode using an audio encoder called “samr” (according to VLC)

VLC Errors: “VLC does not support the audio or video format “samr”. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.” When you try to play the file and windows media player also plays no audio although doesn’t throw up any errors.

If the file is bigger than 3MB you cannot upload it to You tube so you are left with a video file you can only play the video from and not audio. Not great.
To watch these files download quicktime (The audio will work)
OR
Upload the file to Youtube from your PC and let them handle the conversion for you 🙂
(To do this mount the device using a USB cable and browse to the video folder)

Android – The events window seems to only show events happening at the specific time and clicking doesn’t show daily events

On my windows device I used my calendar to oversee what I was doing on the day, it was on my “Today” screen. On my android it is now 2 clicks to get to my daily events. One click would of been acceptable but 2 isn’t. Anyone know the fix?

Android Upload multiple files to picasa at once and automatically upload pictures when taking

Anyone know if its possible upload multiple photos to picasa on the Android OS? I have the picasa tool added I think, I went to the market and searched for picasa and it didn’t come up anyways.. I can share individual photos straight to picasa..

HTC Hero on its way

Just got through to contract cancellations at t-mobile and told them i was going to leave because I got a better deal elsewhere and I got a better contract(£15p/m) with £2p/m discount and a free HTC Hero. The £13p/m(w/ discount) tariff includes 3GB data too which is awesome. As soon as I get it I will be hooking it up to the Microsoft exchange school service at School Email and seeing what it can do!
