I’m not expert but it seems like calm.com would be a useful resource for behavioral management. It’s pretty hard to be angry or upset after idly watching it for a few minutes.

Etherpad Lite .doc/.pdf import/export
So you have installed etherpad lite and you want to add support for importing and export pdf and .doc files? It’s easy.
Drop to shell and type
apt-get install abiword
Next open up your settings.json and change:
"abiword" : null,
to
"abiword" : "/usr/bin/abiword",
Quadblogging with PrimaryBlogger

So, if you’re reading this, the chances are you are a blogger, if you’re not a blogger, your class might be bloggers and if your class are not blogging, the very fact you are here reading this suggests that you probably should be.
I started blogging with my class less than two years ago. In that time, blogging has transformed my teaching, my attitude and my learning too. Blogging has become a very powerful tool in my teacher’s toolbox. Through hard work and some good luck, I have managed to develop a large audience for my pupils to showcase their talents to. Through the use of Twitter, I have tweeted links each day – sometimes as many as 20 per day out to the world. If people don’t like what I am tweeting about it’s simple, they can ‘unfollow’ me. Believe me, many have – and told me too!
During my time researching blogging, supporting other blogging teachers an just observing new blogs, one thing has become very clear. Building an audience takes time. It took me about 2 months to get regular stream of visitors to my first class blog: (www.y62010.heathfieldcps.net) back in December 2009. I have seen so many teacher start blogging with their class and either because they lost interest or their pupils lost interest the once exciting new platform that promised so much – delivered very little!

Hide Authorship colors in Etherpad Lite
A few months ago I wrote a new feature into Etherpad Lite but forgot to promote it, subsequently I keep recieving issues and requests for “how to hide authorship colors”. So here it is, it’s really easy
Just add:
?noColors=true to the end of your Etherpad Lite Pad’s URL IE

Is it possible to build Metro Desktop Tiles without Visual Studio?
It pains me that I’m asking this but I have spent the last 3 hours using my favorite search engine looking for an answer to this question and I’m literally licking the pink knotted balloon of the internet right now so please hear me out..
I hate developing on Microsoft platforms, it feels dirty. After watching the Windows 8 developer talks where they introduced Metro and had a bunch of students create their own tiles I figured how hard can it be?
I’m not willing to use Visual Studio. Microsoft said Metro supports CSS/HTML/JS so I want to build my tile in notepad++. I don’t mind creating my own manifests, that’s fine, but I want to keep it open. I just don’t see a way to do this without installing an “app(has to be a binary)” and then binding that app to the desktop and hoping that Windows finds the manifest for the tile and implements it.
Anyone had any luck? I’d love a little tutorial that just shows me how to get started.. Once I’m up and running I will be good to go!

TLDR: I refuse to use Visual Studio so I want a way to create a desktop tile for Microsoft Windows Metro that doesn’t involve compiling anything.
